The Office of Disability Services is obligated to maintain a student’s confidentiality and the information provided as documentation of a disability.  Disability-related information is treated as medical information and handled under the same strict rules of confidentiality as other medical or student information and in accordance with applicable law.  Student information is collected and kept in secure files with limited access.

Students are responsible for supplying the appropriate documentation of a disability to the Disability Coordinator before receiving accommodations or services.  The student’s self-report is considered a source of valuable information, so it is very important that the student takes the time to openly and honestly discuss the disability with the Coordinator.

Student-veterans and those currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible for services, including counseling referrals and referrals for veteran services offered in the area.

A service animal is a dog that has been trained to perform a specific task to help a person with a disability.

Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are permitted in Seahawk Landing with approval from the Office for Disability Services (ODS). An ESA provides comfort or emotional support for someone with a mental health condition or emotional disorder. An ESA is not a Service Animal, and therefore, is not allowed in other campus buildings or facilities.
